Empirical Cases

PRMS in
Practice

Theory becomes architecture. Applications of the PRMS framework across residential, building, and urban scales — from built prototypes to active research cases.

SmartLiving Milenio III

The empirical foundation of the PRMS framework. A residential prototype designed, built, and instrumented to demonstrate all four metabolic layers in continuous operation.

Project Data

  • Location: Querétaro, México — Fraccionamiento Milenio III
  • Climate: BSk (Semi-arid, cold-winter, Köppen classification)
  • Area: ~406 m²
  • PRMS Level: L3 — Autónomo
  • Certification: EDGE (IFC / World Bank)
  • Instrumentation: Active — first-year data collected 2024
  • IoT Reference: QRO-01

Year 1 Performance

  • PEAR-ROI Score: 0.78
  • Energy self-sufficiency: documented solar generation exceeds L3 threshold
  • Water reduction: EDGE-certified significant reduction vs. baseline
  • Thermal comfort: continuous sensor monitoring, BSk-calibrated
  • Data continuity: full IoT dataset, QRO-01 protocol

"My architecture stops being opinionable and becomes demonstrable."

Residential applications

At residential scale, PRMS operates through the SmartLiving Home™ system — a set of design, construction, and instrumentation protocols derived from the Milenio III prototype.

SmartLiving Home™

The residential implementation of PRMS. A modular system based on the 3.60 × 7.20 × 3.60 m base module with four integrated metabolic layers. Designed for replicability and measurability from day one.

Renewable PEAR™

The energetic subsystem of SmartLiving. Integrates photovoltaic generation, battery storage, smart metering, and grid-interaction management within the PRMS energetic layer protocol.

OH-Design™

The spatial configuration methodology. Derives form and program from the metabolic logic of the building — applying Principle III (energy-first design sequence) at residential scale.

PEAR-ROI™ Indicator

The performance score calculated from the first year of operational data. The primary validation instrument for SmartLiving Home™ performance claims.

Urban metabolism applications

PRMS at urban scale is an active research line. The framework's scale-invariant logic makes it applicable to districts, corridors, and territorial systems — with KPI calibration specific to each level of aggregation.

  • Territorial Metabolism Mapping

Application of PRMS metabolic flow analysis at district scale — identifying energy surplus nodes, water recovery potential, and ecological connectivity corridors within urban fabric.

  • Node Network Design

Design methodology for clusters of PRMS residential nodes that exchange surplus flows — approaching collective Regenerativo performance through networked autonomy.

  • Urban Policy Integration

Research into how PRMS metrics can inform urban development regulations — replacing prescriptive building codes with performance-based thresholds calibrated to local metabolic conditions.
